Used sales specialist (fleet disposal)

Red-D-Arc(a division of Airgas) is North America’s largest welder rental company. We presently operate a rental fleet of over 45,000 welding machines from over 45 branch locations in the USA, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and the United Arab Emirates. Our business includes rentals, leasing and used & new sales of welding equipment and related accessories.
Job Description
Responsible for spearheading the disposal, primarily via used sales, of all targeted rental fleet assets.
Essential Duties
With the help of VP Fleet Ops identify targeted Core and Non-core equipment in our branches that needs to be turned from our fleet. Work with each branch to segregate the targeted equipment from our rental equipment and get it prepped for used sale, either at the resident branch, their supporting branch or the appropriate Equipment Center.
Work with our Marketing and Sales Departments to promote the sale of targeted equipment via direct sales by our sales team, media advertising, the www.reddarc.com web site, our eBay store and e-mail campaigns.
Oversee the used sales spiff program and quarterly create & distribute a list of equipment that will be on that program.
Monitor the static list of equipment on a monthly basis and work with the branches to rent, sell or transfer that equipment where it can be utilized.
Prepare monthly & quarterly fleet performance reports. Work with VP Fleet Ops to target utilization & inventory levels of each product which in turn will help us decide what products we need to be targeting for fleet reduction.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years customer service experience and a basic knowledge of welding applications and equipment is required. A degree in marketing or business administration is desired but not a necessity.
Must have excellent communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and time management skills.
Must have strong computer / Internet skills.
Must have the ability to travel and be away from home overnight occasionally (most of the time will be spent working at the Atlanta office but occasional visits to other branch locations will be necessary).
Proven ability to make sound business decisions
Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines and targets.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
Computer experience using Windows and Office applications
Clean driving record and at least 21 years of age
Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
