Red-D-Arc, an Airgas company, is North America’s largest welder rental company. We presently operate a rental fleet of over 40,000 welders, positioners, generators and welding-related specialty equipment from over 40 branch locations in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Our business includes rentals, leasing and used and new sales of welding and welding-related equipment and accessories.

Job Description
Working as a member of the Information Systems team, the Database Administrator primarily provides database design and development, ensuring data integrity and the integration of all systems. The Navision system as the Primary mission critical system must be maintained, secured, and optimized as Red-D-Arc grows in complexity.

Essential Duties
Designing and creating application databases
Responsible for recommending, creating and maintaining history databases, data warehouse and other auxiliary databases that will enhance Red-D-Arc’s access to information while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and optimum performance
Ensuring the integrity of the application databases through triggers and stored procedures
Database maintenance and support
Database Server support
Create and enforce standards and procedures for database development
Identifying and diagnosing any problems and factors affecting database performance
Provide web services for exchange of information with other applications
Maintaining a data dictionary
Develop and Maintain .Net applications
Develop and maintain systems as required working as part of the development team
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Relevant post-secondary education
5 years demonstrated recent experience with SQL Server or equivalent
Experience with data warehousing
Recent experience or knowledge in the areas of configuring, monitoring and maintaining Windows based database servers in a multi-server, production environment to allow for effective backup and participation in these activities
Recent experience with Visual Studio .Net using VB.Net would be beneficial
Demonstrated problem solving abilities
