Red-D-Arc Acquires A&N Plant and A&N Europe In order to better serve our clients who conduct business outside of North America we have recently expanded the range of our global service offering with the acquisition of A&N Plant in the United Kingdom and A&N Europe in the Netherlands. These companies are currently engaged in equipment manufacturing as well as sales and rental services of welding-equipment products on a worldwide basis - through both company-owned depots and an extensive dealer network. In conjunction with this acquisition we are pleased to announce the appointment of Andre Frenette to the position as vice president of European Operations for Red-D-Arc. "I am pleased to announce the offical opening of our initiative in Dubai. We are eager to build lasting relationships as a result of our committment to our rental customers in the Middle East," says Joe Holloway, General Manager for the company. Red-D-Arc offers a full range of proprietary rental welding and positioning equipment for a variety of processes and applications with rental products that have been engineered to provide Extreme-Duty performance in even the harshest environments. Our rental fleet includes over 40,000 welders, welding positioners and generators, as well as a line of welding-related specialty products that our customers have come to rely on for all their welding equipment needs.   Red-D-Arc to Launch a Customer Access Portal on our Website We are pleased to announce that, in the fall of 2008, Red-D-Arc will be providing our customers with a customer access portal on the Red-D-Arc company website. This addition to our site will allow customers to view a comprehensive list of equipment currently on rent, the details of rental orders, and a listing of outstanding invoices. This new online resource is just one of the many ways Red-D-Arc is making being our partner a great choice - whether on-line or in person.   New OSHA Hexavalent Chromium Cr(VI) Standards The Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) final Hexavalent Chromium Cr(VI) Standard states the new permissible exposure limit (PEL) for Cr(VI) is 5ug/m3 (micrograms per cubic meter) as an eight-hour time-weighted average (TWA). There are three standards for different industries - General Industry, Construction and Shipyards. The respiratory protection requirements for the three standards are similiar. They all require the respiratory protection program, including respirator selection to be in compliance with OSHA 1910.134.
